August 15. A little after 8:00 this morning, we were ready to go to C&C’s house. Daddy wanted to go to Lidl and WM first, however, to get some milk and water. So off he went. An hour and a half went by. He was still gone, and there was no word from him. He had had trouble with the car not starting again. Also discovered that the oil cap was missing. It must not have been put back on the last time the oil was changed (about three weeks ago). He was at WalMart when the van wouldn’t start so went to the automotive department for help. Ronnie jump started it so Daddy could drive around to the automotive section. They didn’t have any oil caps so sent Daddy to Auto Zone to pick up an oil cap. Then they reimbursed him for it. The car was still having problems starting so they checked out the battery, starter, and alternator; they were fine. They checked the cable connections and discovered that one cable was loose. They couldn’t tighten it up and didn’t have a part to fix it so they did a temporary thing and added a small screw. It was about 10:00 when Daddy finally got back to the apartment. Then we threw a few items into the van and headed for C&C’s. After we got there, I fixed a smoothie and started up the computer. Finished writing yesterdays’ journal notes because I hadn’t had time last night before we left the girls’ place. By that time it was going on noon. Daddy went off to Subway to get his lunch. In the mean time, I printed out eleven copies of the newsletter, acknowledging those who receive acknowledgments by mail. It was going on 1:00 before I had my lunch. After nap, I printed out the eleven envelopes for those eleven newsletters, stuffed them, sealed them, and stamped a few of them (we ran out of stamps, but will buy some tomorrow when we go shopping). Then I made the shopping list. Started washing dishes a little after 4:30 so I’d be ready for church in time. August 16. We left early this morning to do our shopping—a little after 8:00 – and were back in two hours after stops at Lidl, WalMart, Aldi, and Post Office. We were thankful to get done early before the day got too hot. Shortly after getting groceries put away, we started working on I Corinthians 12. Worked on that until noon, but didn’t finish it. This afternoon, I wrote some e-mails and also deleted several. This evening, I washed up the handful of dirty dishes that was at the sink and worked on translating a song until my brain got tired. “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” II Timothy 2:22
