September 1. First thing to do this morning was to wash hair. Didn’t get to sit outside this morning. There were things to do before taking off for Charlotte. Fixed a pan of veggies for breakfast since we weren’t going to be here at noon, and we don’t have a way to keep veggies warm for a couple hours in the car. Also made two smoothies for the road and boiled a couple eggs for snacking. I did have quiet time in the midst of those projects and also had more time to pray on the road. A little after 9:00, we were on our way to Charlotte. Actually, we were on our way to Waxhaw first. During the night, Daddy happened to think that Waxhaw would be only another 15 miles from Dr. Schulman’s so we could just take the box of tracts there instead of sending it UPS or FedEx. (It turned out to be more like 20 or 25 miles, and the going was slow because of the slower speed limits.) We got to JAARS a little after 11:00 and back to Dr. Schulman’s with about five minutes to spare before Connie’s appointment at noon. After her adjustment, she and I walked over to Neighborhood Walmart, and Daddy drove the car around. After we got inside the store, however, we noticed the prices were quite a bit higher than Shelby Walmart was the other day so decided to wait and shop Shelby Walmart tomorrow. Daddy walked over to Subway then, while Connie and I waited in the car. After that, we went to Trader Joe’s and did our monthly shopping there. Daddy sat in the car and ate his sub while Connie and I shopped. They had done a lot of rearranging in the store so it took a while to find things. I was grateful for the help of a pleasant and cheerful worker. Headed home after that, arriving a little before 3:00, just when Christy was getting home. Got the food put away and had a snack. Then Daddy and I zonked out for a nap. “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24 May this be my testimony as well.
