June 13. Lots to do even before we left the prophets’ chamber this morning. Made a pot of tea. Cooked a pot of quinoa and another pot with green beans and corn. After the tea had steeped a few minutes, I put a little sugar, some ground ginger, and some cinnamon sticks into a bottle and poured in the tea. Pureed the quinoa and veggies all together and now have a good potful of breakfast food for the next few days. Found refreshment with a little fresh air and exercise and time to pray while walking before we gathered a few things together and loaded up the car to go to the girls' house. Started setting up a new file for a GMS (Glory Missionary School) course for missionary wives. Mid-morning, I made a smoothie to drink. Then Daddy and I started checking Acts 19. We labored over several verses and it was after 12:00 before we finally stopped after verse 27. Went out for a little stretch and some fresh air. Then had lunch and a long nap. I was very tired today for some reason. Praise the Lord for helping us finish checking chapter 19 this afternoon. Then I was able to get corrections made and set it up in the print file. Set up the English for chapter 20 as well. Daddy and the girls left before 5:30 for church and didn’t get home until almost 9:00. It was the last evening of VBS. I washed the few dishes that were at the sink. Then tried to find a sermon online, but things didn’t seem to be working. Finally got frustrated with the computer and did some praying and crocheting. Stitched the gold flowers onto the towel. Then I crocheted a butterfly and stitched it on the other edge. Was so excited that I had finished the towel, and then I noticed that I had stitched things on the wrong side. Sat down and took all the embellishments off and set them aside to be done right tomorrow, hopefully. “6Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 8Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.” Isaiah 58:6-8 If we are more concerned about serving those in need than we are about afflicting and exalting ourselves, then we will know God’s blessings. He has promised to give us light and health, guidance and protection. June 14. Left the house a few minutes after 8:00 this morning and were home a little before 11:00. Thankful for the Lord’s help and strength, and thankful now to be inside, out of the heat and humidity. Lots of stops today—Lidl, WalMart, Aldi, Office Depot, bank—so glad we didn’t have to spend much time in any of the stores. After getting food put away, I spent some time on notes for the work of missionary wives. This afternoon, we checked Acts 20, after which I got it set up in the print file, as well as the English for chapter 21. In the evening, I did a little painting. “….for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.” Ruth 3:11b How many women today could be known by everyone as a virtuous woman?
