September 19. It was sunny the first part of the morning, but clouds and strong, cool winds came up the second half of the morning. Stayed cloudy most of the day, but no rain. Still praying and trusting the Lord for rain.
Anna Jean came this morning while I was just starting to fix my breakfast. (Daddy had already eaten.) She wanted to give us money for her share of the food for the closing program of SCMS. As it ended up, she was here quite a while — filling up the washing machine for laundry tomorrow and answering the door several times. Wan came early, too, and worked on the clothesline, first of all replacing the poles on the north end as they were all rotten, especially the upright. That took him several hours, and then he put the lines back up, tightening them well because they become slack so quickly. That part didn’t take him long at all. We are certainly thankful for his help, strength, and hard work. After I finally finished breakfast, made the bed, and finished prayer time, Daddy and I went out for a while to enjoy the sunshine. After that, I looked for the Jenesis/Eksodas (Genesis/Exodus) file so I can start proofreading and making corrections. Then I was challenged by a short Bible study in II Kings chapter 19. The rest of the day, I busied myself with packing and also worked on setting up a print file for the Old Testament, and started getting Genesis set up in it and proofreading the text for accuracy and correcting any mistakes. September 20. Damp, chilly, and cloudy this a.m., but no rain yet. Anna Jean came and washed clothes. No sun to dry them, but plenty of wind. We learned on the news this morning, that there has been tribal fighting in Goroka this past weekend. Tourists were waiting for their flight to Moresby on Sunday after being in Goroka for Independence Day celebrations, but all flights were cancelled. Daddy sent a text to Brian this morning to see if it is going to be safe for us to come to town tomorrow. He didn’t really know, but will see if things are calmed down today. MAF was closed yesterday, and is closed again today. I worked a little bit on Genesis today, but mostly worked on packing. Also pureed the pumpkin that we cooked several days ago and made fish patties for our dinner. Daddy sent a text to Glennys this afternoon, and MAF does plan to fly tomorrow, but she will be doing survey flights in the morning so our flight will not be until mid-afternoon.
